Day 1:Marrakech → Ouarzazate → Zagora

This 4 days private sahara desert tour from Marrakech Departs at 07h from your hotel or riad; the Tizi N’ Tichka Pass winds up through the Atlas Mountains and reaches to 2260 meters above sea level, providing spectacular views. There are numerous breaks to enjoy the scenery and take photographs.
We arrive in Ouarzazate and explore Taourirte Kasbahs. Lunch (at leisure) before we travel to Zagora via the Draa Valley.
This wonderful river has given birth to a massive oasis around 200 kilometers away at the foothills of the anti-Atlas mountains. The Sahara desert nomads have long inhabited the Draa Valley.

Several palm trees will provide shade between Kasbahs and Ksours, which will be interspersed with fields of grain, barley, vegetables, and henna plants.
Zagora for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2:Zagora → Tazarine → Merzouga

Today, you’ll drive southeast through insane landscapes and past oases in the midst of nowhere, across the volcanic peaks of the Anti Atlas mountains.
You will stop for lunch in the oasis of Alnif before continuing on to Merzouga and Erg Chebbi, where your Sahara desert tent is located.
Upon arrival, change modes of conveyance to camels and engage on an Erg Chebbi dunes camel journey to watch one of the world’s most sought-after views: Erg Chebbi’s stunning sunset over the color-changing sand dunes!

Drive back to the camp and prepare for a fantastic Moroccan meal under the stars, accompanied by the sounds of local nomads playing drums.

Day 3:Merzouga → Tinghir → Boumalne Dades

After breakfast at your desert camp, travel across the 1001 Kasbahs past rivers, oases, and fortified Kasbahs to Tinghir, where you can walk through the oasis along the Todgha river bank to the Todrha canyons for lunch.
Drive around the Dades Valley in the early afternoon, passing some stunning fortified Kasbahs and Berber villages, with the sunset as a background to Dades Gorges, to marvel at the scenery and take photos.

Day 4Boumalne Dades → Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakech

After breakfast, you’ll drive to Kalaa Mgouna, passing through the Valley of Roses. You can go to the rose water ladies’ cooperative and discover how the locals make rose water perfume essences.
We proceed to Skoura Oasis, one of the largest in the South, and see one of its Kasbahs (time allowed) before continuing on to Ouarzazate and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou.

The fortified settlement is one of Morocco’s most popular tourist attractions, and it has served as the filming setting for numerous Hollywood blockbusters.
After lunch in the Kasbah, we drive to Marrakech via the Tizi Ntichka Pass and the High Atlas Mountains.

The distance between Marrakech and Merzouga is 560 km. However, it will be divided into two days on the way in, with a night in Dades Valley. Then you’ll spend the day driving back to Marrakech.

can we hire quad bikes in Merzouga?

Yes, you can—many ATV rental firms in Merzouga provide high-quality quad bikes and dune buggies on the Erg Chebbi dunes. Your guide will assist you with this, and you will pay the supplier directly in Merzouga. They charge 50 euros per quad each hour.

Are there any sand dunes in Zagora?

There aren’t. There is only one sand dune next to the pleasant camp. Zagora is predominantly a flat rock desert.

How far is Zagora desert from Marrakech?

The distance between Marrakech and Zagora is 355 kilometers (220 miles). It takes roughly 7 hours to drive from Marrakech to Zagora through the High Atlas Mountains, Ouarzazate, and Agdz Village. It will take longer if you incorporate scenic stops, lunch, and coffee breaks.
