On our private 4 days tour from Marrakech to Fes you’ll visit the traditional Weekly market of Rissani, the beautiful Todra Valley and gorge, Dades Valley, Zagora desert and Taourirt Kasbah, Film studios in Ouarzazate as well as the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ksar Ait Benhaddou.
You will leave Marrakech for the tour’s first day in a minibus or 4×4 vehicle around 8 a.m. This day, Zagora desert will be your last stop. The breathtaking High Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’Tichka will be seen on this privare trip. We’re going to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, where entrance is free for everyone. The tour to Ouarzazate, the Moroccan Hollywood, continues from this point on. Traveling to Zagora via the picturesque yet meandering Draa Valley will be our next step. Northeastern city of Zagora is surrounded by mountains. After having a little time to relax, you can take an adventurous camelback ride around the dunes till dusk falls.
The Berber camp where you will be spending the night offers a bonfire to enjoy after your camel ride at nightfall. Each night, Berber music around the campfire provides entertainment. Before you head back to your tent for the evening, there will be a typical test of the Berber meal.
You will travel from Zagora to Dades Gorge via Ouarzazate on the second day of this Marrakech to fes and Zagora desert tour. The traditional Berber breakfast will be delivered to you once you awaken in time to witness the stunning sunrise. Following breakfast, you will begin your day with a camel ride back to Zagora. Your desert tour back to Ouarzazate will begin at Zagora. After lunch, your journey to Dades Gorge will resume. Next, we travel to the Todra Gorges, where the Todra River’s passage has cut out a massive canyon through the mountains, creating a canyon with steep red cliff walls. A lunch break is available. You will explore the gorges and take in the breathtaking scenery.
We arrive at Merzouga, the Sahara desert, in the afternoon. where you cross the dusty desert on camels instead of horses. We’ll pause so you can stand on a tall dune and take in the breathtaking sunset. Proceed to the opulent desert tent where you can dance around the bonfire beneath a huge starry sky while listening to the melody of Berber drums. Supper and the night spent in the tent.
last day of your 4 days desert tour from Marrakech to Zagora and Fes. You get up early morning to watch the breathtaking dawn over the desert. Breakfast is on your own, after which you ride camels back to Merzouga, where your driver is waiting. Then we depart from the desert to explore the historic Tafilalet capital, Rissani town. With a sizable souk that comes alive on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, Rissani is still a significant trading hub in the area. We travel to Erfoud and stop at one of the fossilized marble workshops after taking a stroll through the Rissani souk.
Following that, we drive alongside the Ziz River and pause to take in the expansive panorama of the Ziz Valley. Lunch break free in Midelt. Next, we head into the Cedars Forest, home of the Barbary Macaques. While exploring the forest, feel free to give them food. Subsequently, we travel to Ifrane, which is renowned for its frigid temperatures, snowfall, and chalet-style homes—no surprise it’s dubbed the Switzerland of Morocco. Lastly, we drop you off at your Fes hotel.
